Christmas in the sun, in Angol ! What a delight !

We are alone in the Campo Indio campground, as usual...
But we are tempted by the nice cabana !

The Sendero Piedra del Aguila goes through a forest of araucarias...

the cracked bark of which confesses the great age...

From the Mirador Piedra del Aguila, a string of volcanoes, lined up on the skyline :
Antuco (2985 m), Velluda (3585 m), Copahue (2969 m), Cayaqui (3164 m), Tolhuaca (2806 m), Lonquimay (2890 m), the Sierra Nevada (2554 m) and the Llaima (3125 m)

(and several more, not visible on this picture...)

Well lined up, the araucarias stand guard on the summit.

The Copahue happens to be erupting today : its smoke is quite visible.

Some Añañuca roja

and modest echium vulgare...
